Scam Alert: Fake Police Contacting Businesses for Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
