Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri to Scam Garda Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.
