Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, scammers contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armed force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after taking the money, disappears.
