Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

Masks themselves as Carabinieri when contacting hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armer.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri by dialing 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
