Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but rather scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
