Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the arm.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.
