Scam Alert: Fake Police Calls Target Garda Businesses for Deceptive Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire department, or the municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
