Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda Area

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area by phone, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to identify scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
