Beware of Carabinieri Scam Calls Targeting Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not police officers, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
