Feralpi Starts Enfinity Global Solar Plant in Ferrara Province

A new 15.5 MW solar PV plant has started operating in the province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, after being built by Enfinity Global to supply renewable power to Feralpi Group. The commissioning—announced for July 30, 2026—activates a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between the two companies, securing electricity for Feralpi’s industrial sites across Northern Italy.

The facility is equipped with 26,572 bifacial panels using tracker technology to improve solar capture, with expected output of 23.3 GWh per year. Company estimates say the generation will avoid around 6,291 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, supporting Feralpi’s broader ESG and decarbonisation targets, including a 50% reduction in specific CO2 emissions by 2030 (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) and a further 25% cut in Scope 3 absolute emissions by the same year. In 2025, Feralpi reported that 56% of the energy used to produce steel already came from renewable sources.
