Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Hoteliers and Shopkeepers

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armed force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
