Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

desire money, and then disappear.
