Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazines in Garda Region

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighting services, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, no longer reveal themselves.
