Carabinieri Impersonators Scamming Garda Business Owners

The Carabinieri impersonators are contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda region by phone, offering magazine subscriptions related to the force.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finances, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
