Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda region, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the financial police, the police, the fire department, or the municipal guards.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they had money to steal, would no longer appear in person.
