Impostors Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Region, Warn Authorities

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not actual military personnel but impostors who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
