Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
