Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal patrols.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become a target of individuals who,

would be looking for money, and then disappear.
