Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant operators in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of financial authorities, police, firefighters, or local municipal officers.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or to publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, then disappear.
