Scammers Pose as Police to Target Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing Fraudulent Activities

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
