Scammers Mimic Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, the police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, disappear and are no longer visible.
