Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
