Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing magazine subscriptions from the carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
