Scammers Posing as Carabinieri Target Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
