Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Con Researchers and Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or those completely unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
