Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They are targeting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda over the phone, proposing subscriptions to magazines from the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by individuals who,
