Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They stoop to Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing Frauds

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
