Carabinieri Impersonation Scams Target Garda Business Owners

The Carabinieri are being impersonated in phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions on behalf of the arm.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
