Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They reach out to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs of Medio and Alto Garda by phone, claiming to be Carabinieri, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal Vigili.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
