Fraudsters Pretend to be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They break out in Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the arm.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become a target by individuals who,

if they had money, would stop showing themselves.
