Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses
They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police Office.
Recognizing scams
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
