Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

despite having money, no longer makes their presence known.
