Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Across Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the military.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at various times, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, disappear and are no longer visible.
