Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

if they demand money, no longer make themselves visible.
