Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Police for Fraudulent Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who,
