Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
