Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.
These are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
who claims to have money, no longer shows up.
