Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the carabinieri magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police force, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

seeking money, disappear and become untraceable.
