Marzia Roversi Brings Contemporary Art to Salò

An exhibition in Salò has opened a new focus on contemporary art, highlighting works by Alessandra Garzetti and Marzia Roversi. The show, presented over the weekend, presents two distinct visual approaches: Garzetti’s research into how images are perceived, and Roversi’s delicate, narrative imagination built through mixed techniques.

Garzetti’s compositions feature figures often partially obscured by a fine mesh, leaving only an impression of presence and creating a link between image and perception. Roversi, by contrast, works with large collage pieces on wooden panels, adding graphite to achieve a three-dimensional effect; some works also include acrylic and gold leaf. Her pieces depict young female figures and animals in enigmatic, fairytale-like atmospheres, with recurring motifs such as attentive gazes, meditative expressions, and birds or domestic felines.

Those who missed the Salò exhibition can see more of Roversi’s work at her gallery in Mirandola, “emporio amolà” on via Curtatone 20, where illustrated art books and other decorated objects are also available. In September, she is also scheduled for a solo show at the bishop’s palace in Quingentole-MN over the coming weekends.
