On Friday 23 October, drivers around Lake Garda will meet alternating one-way traffic on the SR 249 Gardesana Orientale road between Brenzone, Bardolino and Lazise, along with a series of closures in several lakeside towns.
Main lakeside roads
On the SR 249 Gardesana Orientale, alternating one-way traffic, controlled by traffic marshals or traffic lights, applies until Friday 23 October from 06:00 to 20:00 on three stretches: at Brenzone between km 69 and 75, at Bardolino between km 49 and 51, and on the SR 005 Verona-Lago between km 5 and 9, between Pastrengo and Lazise. The measure does not apply on public holidays, Saturdays or Sundays, so Friday is the last day before the weekend break.
On the SP 31, at the junction with strada Bardolina and strada Tre Contrè, alternating one-way traffic stays in place until 27 October while a new traffic light system is installed. Vehicles pass in turns.
In Malcesine, the area behind the bus station is closed to all unauthorised vehicles from 09:30 to 17:00 until 28 October. The restriction supports an experimental service that takes tourists arriving by coach from Retelino to the coach station.
In Toscolano Maderno, the lakefront promenade Beato Josè Maria Escrivá is closed near the small harbour, between via Religione and viale Marconi, from 19 October to 6 November because of works in the port area. The stretch reopens on pre-holiday and holiday days. On Friday 23 October the car parks on via Statale, entered from via Galilei and via Religione, are also off limits: parking is banned with vehicle removal, and access is closed for the olive harvest for the time strictly necessary.
Closures in the towns
In Lazise, via Po’ is closed to vehicles from 08:00 on 21 October to 18:00 on 30 October, weekends included, for water pipe replacement. Emergency vehicles keep access. In via Confine, via Venezia, vicolo Confine, via del Burlin and via Derna, alternating one-way traffic and a parking ban apply from 07:30 to 18:00 until 6 November, public holidays excluded, for fibre optic cable work.

- Brenzone sul Garda: via De Loc in the village of Assenza and in the Borago area, from 19 to 30 October, 07:00 to 19:00, for resurfacing.
- Desenzano del Garda: via Giotto at no. 5, 08:30 to 18:00 until 30 October, marshal-controlled with a 30 km/h limit, not on public holidays or pre-holiday days.
- Salò: via Brunati at no. 35, 08:30 to 17:00 until 30 October, marshal-controlled.
- Torri del Benaco: via Pai di Sotto near no. 86, 08:00 to 18:00 until Friday 23 October, for a water pipe repair.
Events and gatherings
In Sirmione, piazzale Europa is closed to traffic and parking from 21:00 on Friday 23 October to 13:00 on Sunday 25 October for the national gathering of the veteran bands of the Alpine Brigades. On Saturday 24 October, parking and traffic are also banned in piazza Rovizzi from 13:00 to 15:30.
In Sanico, a village in Toscolano Maderno, the autumn food festival “Sanico Sapori d’Autunno” brings restrictions too. On Friday 23 October parking is banned, with vehicle removal, on via Sanico from 08:00 to 20:00 while the area is set up. On Saturday 24 October the historic centre is closed to traffic and parking from 08:00 until the event ends.
