Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be cautious and immediately inform the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
