Fraudulent Calls Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, disappear and are no longer visible.
