Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

having money, no longer shows themselves.
