Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region Fraud Alert

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
