Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Comune traffic wardens.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
