Scammers Impersonate Police to Trick Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to police magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
