Garda Fraud Scammers Pose as Authorities to Sell Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
