Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Targeting Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the arm.

These are not actual military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
