Scammers Impersonating Police Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

Pretending to be Carabinieri, the scammers call hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, if they ask for money, then disappears.
