Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have no relation to law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
when asked for money, disappear and are no longer visible.
